Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
A credible threat that needs to be considered is invasion by the Aulacaspis cycad scale insect which has resulted in significant die off of both wild and cultivated Cycas species (Marler et al. 2021). This invasive scale insect has not yet been introduced to Australia but is now widely distributed across the world and invasions have been recorded in nearby regions (Indonesia and New Zealand) and the insect has spread globally via the horticultural trade in cycads. The north east coast of Australia includes areas of moderate risk of invasion based on habitat mapping and modelling (Wei et al. 2018).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
This species is listed in Appendix II of the CITES Appendices. Plants may occur in the McIlwraith Range National Park and most of the area where it occurs is either forest reserve or timber reserve in which case any land use activities should take into consideration the possible impact on Cycas tuckeri. The long-term monitoring of subpopulations will support the conservation of this species.
