Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
There do not seem to be any major threats associated with habitat loss. The one credible future threat is invasion by the Aulacaspis cycad scale insect, which has caused major population declines in other species of Cycas on Pacific islands. The scale insect has been recorded from islands in Indonesia and the region where C. sundaica occurs is considered to have a moderate risk of invasion by the scale insect (Wei et al. 2018)

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
It is listed in Appendix II of the CITES Appendices. Cycas sundaica is locally abundant and known to occur in reserved areas set aside for the conservation of the Komodo Dragon (Lindstrom et al. 2009). An education and awareness programme as well as the long-term monitoring of subpopulations will support the conservation of this species.
