Description complète des menacesExpert
A great deal of its habitat has been replaced by agriculture, yet, many plants are still encountered in patches of undisturbed forest. An increasing threat from approaching hotel and beachfront development is evident through the whole distribution. There is also a possible threat from constant importation of Cycas revoluta as an ornamental in both Fiji and New Caledonia. This could in turn bring in the cycad Aulacaspis scale.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species is listed in Appendix II of the CITES Appendices. An education and awareness programme as well as the long-term monitoring of subpopulations will support the conservation of this species. Detecting and monitoring programmes for the possible presence of the cycas Aulacaspis scale need to be implemented.
