This species is common over a large range and Lindström et al. (2009) suggested the population may exceed 10,000 mature individuals. Although the population is assessed as decreasing due to habitat loss, it has not been possible to assess the extent of habitat loss but this is not regarded as nearing levels where the population would be threatened.
