État de la populationExpert
This species appears to be locally common, with the population size estimated to be between 2,500 and 10,000 mature plants. Nevertheless, there has been ongoing harvesting of plants from the wild and the population is estimated to have declined by 40% over the past 20 years (< one generation). Further extrapolation is difficult, and this is treated as a minimum population reduction.

This plant is threatened by local plant collectors. The trade of mature plants has increased due to the interest in new plants for Bonsai projects within Thailand. Plants previously easily accessible and visible from the road are now gone. It is estimated that there has been a 40% decrease in the total population.
