This species is known from two subpopulations, which are both fairly large with normal regeneration. There is no evidence of past population decline and the population is assumed to be stable.

The habitats of this species may be easily altered or destroyed by activities occurring in the vicinity. These include forest fire, mining for limestone (there are existing mines and cement factories within 5km), road construction and agricultural expansion. The species is regarded as high risk for future collecting for the ornamental plant trade.
