Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
Although Cycas brachycantha occurs in Ba Be National Park, local residents have been harvesting mature individuals for ornamental purposes. This trade is driven by demand from Chinese markets. The exact levels of decline due to collecting are not known but ongoing removal of mature plants has been observed over several years.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
This species is listed in Appendix II of the CITES Appendices. This species is well represented within Ba Be National Park, Viet Nam. Since the major threat is ongoing collecting of mature individuals for the ornamental trade, it is important that the national park manages these harvests. An education and awareness programme as well as the long-term monitoring of subpopulations will support the conservation of this species.
