État de la populationExpert
This species occurs in an extremely remote area and has rarely been collected, but it is regarded as locally abundant (Liddle 2009) and is likely to be more widespread than currently recorded.

Menaces identifiées(1 menace classée CMP-IUCN)

Description complète des menacesExpert
Due to its remote locality and occurrence on aboriginal land, there is no known threat associated with land use or land clearing. More frequent or more intense fires could be a risk, as has been observed with other Cycas (Liddle 2009) but current fire management programmes have decreased the risk of potential population decline.

Habitats préférentiels (classification IUCN)

  • 1_5Forest - Subtropical/Tropical Dry
  • 2_1Savanna - Dry
Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species is listed in Appendix II of the CITES Appendices. It does not occur in any reserves but it occurs entirely on aboriginal lands where there is a low likelihood of threats due to changes in land use.
