The nearby forest is observed threatened by slash and burn for growing hill rice, establishing gardens and plantations. In general, especially the lowland forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and converted (WWF 2019). Over 40% of the tree cover has been lost between 2000 and 2017 (GFW 2019).
