There are no specific threats identified for this species but its only known location in Isalo National Park is threatened by deforestation, fire (natural and man made) and disturbance as a result of semi-precious stone exploitation by the local people (http://www.newsmada.com/2016/03/26/parcs-nationaux-sujets-a-des-menaces-et-pressions/).
