The species has been collected several times, and according to Holttum (1950) the species is common in Taiping Hills. The population as a whole is likely to be large and relatively stable.

This species has not been recorded by BGCI (2019) to be grown ex situ. Some individuals were found in protected areas such as Taman Negara (National Park) Pahang, Bang Lang National Park and Ulu Muda Wildlife Reserve in which they should be conserved (ZRC 2019, Protected Planet 2019).
