Colchicum rausii

According to Persson (in Phitos et al. 2009) the area of Mountain Karava where this species is known is not easily accessible, therefore it doesn't seem to be threatened by human activities. The subpopulation near Arnissa could be close to urban and cultivation areas but currently does not seem to be facing major threats. The survival of the species doesn't seem to be affected by grazing.

In the National Red List of Greece the species was listed as Vulnerable (Persson in Phitos et al. 2009). According to Persson (in Phitos et al. 2009) the road network in the region had been reconstructed so it should be ensured that any further exploitation of the area will not affect the habitat quality. Furthermore, thorough investigations should be made for the possible discovery of more sub-populations on neighbouring mountains.
