The species is scattered in large areas at higher altitudes especially in the region of Mount Parnassos, where it forms its largest subpopulation. However, the total number of individuals is difficult to estimate (Persson in Phitos et al. 2009).

According to Persson (Phitos et al. 2009) the species seems to be safe at least on the slopes of Mount Parnassοs where it forms relatively large populations. It doesn't seem to be affected by grazing, but in some areas activities related with the ski centre may have a negative impact on the population in the future.
