Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
This species has experienced habitat loss due to the heavy deforestation of Quercus forest, particularly following the construction of the Pan-American highway which increased access to the forests, resulting in widespread conversion of land to pasture and cropland (Kappelle 2016). Fire and intensive grazing have impacted the area covered by bamboo vegetation and may have caused the loss of multiple populations (Widmer 1997). However, most forest, especially above 2,800 m where this species occurs, has been protected from further deforestation (Widmer 1994).
