Description complète des menacesExpert

The species is known from 18 locations and is threatened within nine of them. The Mount Cameroon site is threatened by various pressures to the forest at lower altitudes, especially shifting agriculture. The Ekekam location is very close to the capital city Yaoundé and the main Douala-Yaoundé road, and is inferred to have been exposed to increasing pressures on the forest from the typical threats posed by agricultural needs. Ndikinimeki is a small town or village situated on a secondary road, and as such will likely be under some form of threat from farming activities that presumably continue along the road towards the location from which this species was collected. In other countries where the species occurs, its habitat is threatened outside protected areas from human activities, especially forest clearance for agriculture, and for mining at Bélinga (Gabon).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert

Cheirostylis divina occurs within nine protected areas: the Western Area Peninsula Forest National Park in Sierra Leone, the Wologizi National Park and the East Nimba Nature Reserve in Liberia, the Massif du Ziama Classified Forest and the Mount Nimba Strict Nature Reserve in Guinea Conakry, the Atewa Range Forest Reserve in Ghana, the Campo Ma'an National Park in Cameroon, the Monte Alén National Park in Rio Muni and the Moukalaba Doudou National Park in Gabon. The species habitat in these nine protected areas seems to be not under threat as they appear well managed. There are no current conservation actions for the species outside these protected areas.

The species is listed in CITES Appendix II.
