Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
The coastal lowland forests have been cleared on Buru and vegetation modified to a mosaic of primary and secondary forest by shifting cultivation and savannah areas have resulted from repeated burning. There is also some commercial logging. On Seram much original forest vegetation has been cleared, mostly along the northern coast, where this species has been recorded, and logging activity, including in and around protected areas, has taken place (Wikramanayake et al. 2002). Satellite imagery shows areas of plantation development, particularly along lower lying coastal areas, on both islands.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
The Manusela National Park on Seram covers an area of 2,000 km2 and the type specimen is believed to have been collected from an area which is now included within this national park. There is a protected area close to the locality of collection on Buru, Gunung Kapalat Mada (1,380 km2) and it is possibly found within it. Cheirostylis species are protected from trade incompatible with species survival in the wild under appendix II in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species legislation (CITES 2016). No details of any ex situ conservation were found.
