État de la populationExpert
Field visits to the location have only documented 300 mature individuals in three separate subpopulations (Vázquez-Torres et al. 2008). According to Martínez-Domínguez et al. (2018) the distribution range is larger than previously though and, therefore, the numbers should also have increased. However, modelled distribution range shows that 68% of habitat has been transformed and this would have affected the population across its range, while  targeted collecting of this extremely rare species may also be having an impact.
