Description complète des menacesExpert
The record for this orchid falls close to, but possibly just outside, the Lorentz National Park in the Maoke Mountain Range. Within this national park road construction was under an environmental impact review in 2015 (World Heritage Committee 2015). The Phytopthora fungus (responsible for die back) is spreading within this national park and financial and management issues are cited as factors affecting the park in a 2015 analysis (UNESCO 2015). Annual observations made during flights over the south Papuan lowlands since 1985 are reported to indicate that there appears to be very little overall change to the status of the forests with large areas that are inaccessible and undisturbed (Birdlife International 2016). However, mining for gold and copper and associated logging is a local threat in some areas of the south Papuan lowlands. Habitat is locally under threat from logging and clearance for traditional agriculture and subsistence coffee areas (Wikramanayake et al. 2002, Birdlife International 2016) and from events such as landslides and fire (Johns 1986).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
The area of collection for this orchid falls close to the Lorentz National Park but it is not known whether it occurs within it. Ceratostylis species are protected from trade incompatible with species survival in the wild under appendices in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES 2016).
