État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
Castanopsis siamensis is very poorly known and is only known from two collections. The exact location of the type locality was not known at the time of this assessment. Although the region is rich in protected areas, it is not clear whether the species resides in any of the national parks, or whether the original collecting locality is contained within one of these. The region has seen extensive deforestation and habitat conversion for agriculture and urbanization. Sites outside protected areas may no longer hold subpopulations of this species.
