This species is a limestone-bound species and this is heavily sought after in Viet Nam for construction. It is unlikely that this species will be found extensively outside its current known range.

Castanopsis multiporcata is not listed in any ex situ collections in BGCI (2020). The species is described as well conserved in the Xuan Son National Park by (Vuong and Xia 2014). Recommended conservation actions include sustainable collection and conservation in ex situ sites as well as additional research on the species to better understand its population size, trends, and threats.
