Calyptrogyne tutensis

Forests surrounding the protected areas where this species occurs are subjected to clearing for small-scale agriculture. Forests inside the national parks are largely intact, but some deforestation probably extends inside the park boundaries. The extent of damage near occurrences of this species, however, is not known. We conclude that forest destruction in the protected areas is a risk and could potentially threaten much of its population in the near future.

This species is found in Santa Fe National Park, but no conservation actions are underway. Further exploration to locate more specimens is needed in order understand its range and population density.
