There are no specific threats to this species at present. However Sumatra's lowland rain forest has been subjected to intense logging activities and the montane forest is also being destroyed in places, therefore it can't be excluded that species' populations might be affected by human activities in the near future. Conversion of habitat for palm oil plantations also pose a threat to the natural habitat.
