No conservation program is in place for this species; although it occurs within a protected area, grazing pressure is still present. However, as a rare species in the area, it requires conservation measures to ensure its conservation. The population found recently at Bitlis at 1,450 m (Altiok and Behçet 2005) suggests that the species may be more widespread but under-recorded. Therefore, more research is recommended on the species range.
