The forests of Borneo are under a continuous, general threat of being logged and converted for e.g. palm oil plantations (WWF 2018). The forests in which this species has been collected looks relatively intact (GFW 2018). Considering the small area of occupancy (AOO) continued protection of the areas are of utmost importance.

According to BGCI (2018) this species is grown in 7 ex situ localities. One collection has been made in Mulu National Park (ZRC 2018) and the other in or in close proximity to Pulong Tau National Park (Protected Planet 2018).
