État de la populationExpert

No quantitative population data are available for this species. It is known from only 11 collections and two sight records, dating from 1951 to 2011.

Description complète des menacesExpert

At Vumba, the known locality is protected within a botanical reserve, whilst Pungwe Falls is well protected within Nyanga National Park. On Mabu, the forest is extensive and intact despite lack of formal protection. The Stapleford locality is also likely to be secure. The gulley forests are probably intact at Mutzingazi Forest SW of Chimanimani; there has been some disturbance in this area including extensive plantation of exotic pine but these were planted on former grassland sites rather than replacing forest. Therefore, there are no known threats to this species at present.
