Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
All orchid species are included under Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The Government of India has banned the export for commercial purposes of all wild-taken specimens of species included in Appendices I, II and III, except cultivated varieties of plant species included in Appendices I and II accompanied by a CITES Comparable Certificate issued by the competent authorities of India (CITES Notif. No. 2018/031).
Conservation of natural habitat is urgently necessary by means of village level awareness programs by government departments and NGOs with constant affiliation with the department of forest and wildlife.
Because of the rapid, widespread destruction of natural orchid habitat, ex situ orchid cultivation is essential in maintaining orchid survival and biodiversity. Priority should be given for the in situ as well as ex situ conservation of the orchid genetic resources of the district by setting up of protected areas in rich diversity areas.
