Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
There are 5 ex situ collections (BGCI 2021). This species occurs in the Natural Resources Protection Area "CADNR 043 Estado de Nayarit" (Aguascalientes, Durango, Jalisco, Nayarit, Zacatecas). It is recommended to increase the research efforts to better understand the population size, distribution, and trends of Brahea sarukhanii in order to prepare a possible species action/recovery plan, and it is necessary to consider a genome resource bank as a measure of ex situ conservation. Moreover, it is recommended to carry out sustainable production activities, livelihood alternatives to the destruction of forests, legal regulations, and conservation payments. Likewise, it would be beneficial to monitor habitat trends.
