Distribution biogéographique

• Distribution Brachymelecta californica is the most widely distributed member of its genus, ranging from Western Canada to southern Mexico west of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (Fig. 4 B). Although this species has been recorded from the Eastern United States (Mitchell 1962), it is much more common in the west, with few known records east of the Mississippi River. This is the only species of Brachymelecta known to occur in Canada.1 esp.
