État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
There are currently no specific population data available for this species, but it is known from nine geographically distinct sites in which the individuals are infrequent, and is extremely unlikely to have more than 1,000 mature individuals. The most recent herbarium collection was made in 2013.

Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
This species can tolerate fires but if their frequency is too high the plant may not recover. Cattle-grazing may trample the ground and disturb the growth of the plant that may affect the population in the future. Potentially invasive species, e.g. Pinus, in the areas where the species occurs, may affect populations in the future through competition with native species and the modification of the environment making this species less able to survive. Pesticide use causes the decline of specific pollinators of some orchids on Madagascar (J. Andriantiana pers. obs.) may be a threat. There is currently no specific information about collection and trade of this species, but it is not especially desirable for horticulture and the tubers are not edible so the species is not harvested for food.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
There are no known conservation measures specifically for this species, but it is found in the newly designated Itremo Massif and Makay massif New Protected Area . It is recommended that seed are collected, for storage and in vitro propagation, as part of ex situ and restoration-based conservation measures.
