Boesenbergia pulchella is found in small clumps with few individuals in the protected areas. There are approximately between 20 and 50 subpopulations in Sabah. The subpopulations in Sarawak and Kalimantan are unknown as there is only one collection from each location, if more survey is done in these areas it is likely that more subpopulations are found.
