État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
There is no population data for this species, however, given that it is a large orchid that was not recorded as new to science until 1999, and is presently only known from the type collection, it is likely to be very rare.

Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
This species is only known from the type locality in the limestone hills of central Jamaica. It was collected from steep cliffs, which may afford it some protection from the threats usually associated with broadleaf forest in this region; in particular, clearance for shifting agriculture and settlements is unlikely to affect this habitat. However, wood cutting for firewood and yam sticks, illegal logging, and charcoal burning, all common activities in the limestone hills in this region (D. Luke pers. comm. 2024), likely contribute to degradation of this species' habitat.
