The type locality of Biermannia arunachalensis is protected within the Orchid Research Centre, Tipi. However, a wider distribution outside of the Research Centre is possible, and the adjacent habitats are facing numerous threats such as the expansion of human settlements, climate change, air pollution from nearby factories, logging and habitat destruction.

All orchid species are included under Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The Government of India has banned the export for commercial purposes of all wild-taken specimens of species included in Appendices I, II and III, except cultivated varieties of plant species included in Appendices I and II accompanied by a CITES Comparable Certificate issued by the competent authorities of India (CITES Notif. No. 2018/031). The type locality is well protected within the Orchid Research Centre under the Department of Environment and Forests, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, but no live specimens have been found at the type locality.
Research is required to confirm the current distribution and population size of this species in the area. The species is not in ex situ conservation.
