Description complète des menacesExpert
There are currently no major threats reported to affect this species. However, in subpopulations that grow on peat bogs, the species is threatened by exploitation, drainage and burning of the bog habitat. In the future, it may be negatively affected through the loss of climatically suitable areas and low climatic suitability of locations outside its current range (its range is likely to extend further north).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
There is no specific conservation action in place for this species, but some areas of wet woodland habitat are protected. In the UK parts of Betula pubescens habitat is protected under Annex 1 of the EC Habitats Directive. In Croatia the species, as well as bogs in general, are protected by the Nature Protection Act. The species is also indirectly protected by a special botanical reserve, Bans Moravians. This species is also protected according to the species protection law in Hungary (1982. III.15), amended in 1988 and in 1996 (15/1996., VII.26., KTM decree). This species is protected in Croatia by the 'Law on Nature Protection' as it is frequently collected and used as a MAP (Medicinal and Aromatic Plant) in Croatia.
