This species is fairly common in cultivation and propagation by cuttings is relatively easy. Both cytotypes appear to be almost totally self-incompatible so seed can only be produced from stands of more than one clone.

There are no range-wide conservation actions currently in place or necessary at this time for the species, however as this is an important timber species implementation of sustainable forestry should be in place.
