The population of this endemic species is decreasing. The known location where it occurs has been converted into oil palm plantations. In 2015, a search was conducted by Callmander, M.W. in potential habitats that were considered suitable for the species, but unfortunately, the species could not be located (Beentje and Callmander 2023).
