Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
Satellite imagery shows that there is extensive intact habitat around all of the known localities and two of the known localities fall inside protected areas. However, around Nabire there are several logging and mining concessions (Shearman et al. 2009) which, despite minimal disturbance at present, could pose a significant threat to the subpopulation in this area. Additionally, since 2010, Indonesian New Guinea has become a focal point for the establishment of new plantations, due to ever decreasing availability of land in other parts of Indonesia (Runtuboi et al. 2020). Road expansion is also predicted to accelerate conversion of forest to plantations and other land use changes. This may place additional pressures on the habitat of this species in coming years.
