Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
The area in which this species has been recorded from has experienced some deforestation within the last two decades. From 2001 to 2020, South Sorong regency experienced a loss in primary forest cover of 210 km2, though satellite imagery shows that there is still extensive undisturbed primary forest across the regency as well as around both collection localities (Global Forest Watch 2021). One locality is also situated within a protected area. This species is therefore unlikely to currently be declining as a result of habitat loss. However, there is a large logging concession covering a large area of the regency and part of it falls around one of the known collection sites, though satellite imagery suggests there has not yet been any major deforestation. There is also a large palm oil concession. South Sorong regency is considered to be a plantation hotspot in West Papua province (EIA and Telapak 2009). Therefore, this species' habitat in part of its range could quickly become threatened in the future.
