Although this species is found in the Iwokrama Rainforest Reserve, this area of Guyana is in the management processes including zonation for the development of plans for forestry, tourism management and community interests. It is also found at Kaieteur National Park in Guyana but this is also under threat through ecotourism development in the park. In Venezuela the species is found in the Sierra de Imataca under special protection of the forest reserve. However, this region is threatened by mining and forestry (Olivera-Miranda and Morón Zambrano 2018).

There is no specific conservation measures in place for this species. The species occurs in the Iwokrama Rainforest Reserve in Guyana and in Venezuela this species is found in the Reserva Forestal Serranía de Imataca. No information on ex situ conservation efforts were found.
