Description complète des menacesExpert
Road construction, mining, urban expansion, the cultivation of pasture for cattle grazing, anthropogenic fires, the spread of the invasive Gradua bamboo forest may threaten the native flora in parts of the range. This species has been collected in remote forests of low human footprint. It is not known how these threats affect the population of this grass species. Collections on roadsides and in urban areas suggest some ability to regenerate and persist in disturbed and secondary vegetation.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species has been mostly collected within conservation units and viable subpopulations are assumed to be found within these protected habitats. Large parts of the region are difficult to access and may remain botanically unexplored. Field surveys are needed in historical sites of collection and potentially suitable habitats to determine the current range and population size of this wide ranging grass species so as to clarify its conservation status. No seeds are known to have been collected for ex situ conservation purposes.
