Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
There are no specific threats identified for this species but its main habitat of dry deciduous forests have decreased in area since the 1970's by 39% (Moat and Smith 2007). The main threats to western dry forests are charcoal production, firewood collection, agricultural clearing and encroachment (Moat and Smith 2007). Cattle grazing within forests and burning to produce fresh pasture can also cause forest degradation (Waeber et al. 2015). The increasing human population in Madagascar and growing need for more land continue as major pressures to forests in the west of Madagascar (Waeber et al. 2015).
