Central Africa: The major threats for this species should be those affecting the quality and quantity of water especially water pollution, temperature extreme, alien invasion, and sudden drought. It’s also mentioned that the tubers of this species are edible (Flore d'Afrique Centrale). This is a lethal exploitation and if not controlled can affect the population and even the survival of this species.
