Description complète des menacesExpert
At the lower elevations, it is threatened by overgrazing and small-holder farming, and occurs at five or six locations defined by these threats. Agricultural expansion is a major threat to the habitats of this species and has led to the extirpation of subpopulations at two locations, those near Amaro and Maze National Parks collected in 1953 and 1968.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
The majority of subpopulations of this species occur in the protected areas of Bale Mountains National Park, Arsi Mountains National Park, Dodola-Adaba-Lajo and Bore-Anferara National Forest Priority Areas. Even though the species occurs in protected areas, the management system for those areas is weak and is not an effective system. Thus, threats may be ongoing, even in the protected areas. This species is not known to be represented in ex situ conservation.
