Description complète des menacesExpert
Threats to the native flora of Marlborough include introduced browsers and weeds such as the Australian common Brushtail Possums (Trichosurus vulpecula), Box Thorn (Lycium ferocissum), Old Man's Beard (Clematis vitalba), Hieracium spp., Briar (Rosa rubiginosa), and conifers (e.g., Pinus contorta). Weed infestation has the potential to worsen as exotic plantings increase as part of efforts to control erosion. Fire is a significant threat to conservation reserves and fragmented remnants of natural vegetation. Other catastrophic events, such as floods and landslips, also threaten isolated or remnant communities (Frimmel 2001). The impact of these threats on the population of this species is unknown.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species is listed as 'Range Restricted' in New Zealand and 'Naturally Uncommon' (de Lange et al. 2004, 2013; de Lange 2005). The taxon may occur within conservation units, although large areas with high ecological values are not fully protected in the region (Frimmel 2001).

Field surveys are needed to determine the current range and population size of the taxon. Occurrence within conservation units should be verified. The population should be monitored at regular intervals. The biology and ecology of the taxon should be studied. Seeds should be collected for germplasm and ex situ conservation.
