État de la populationExpert
In its area, the species can be locally very abundant, even the most abundant Anthophora species (e.g., in the Maures hills in S.E. France), and extremely rare in other places. There is no indication of regression. There is no other information available on the population size and trend of this species (P. Rasmont pers comm. 2024).

Description complète des menacesExpert
The specific threats to this species remain unknown. However, given the nature of the Mediterranean dwarf shrub communities that it is known to inhabit in parts of its range, inappropriate grazing regimes and an increased incidence of fires may have a negative impact on the species.

Habitats préférentiels (classification IUCN)

  • 3_8Shrubland - Mediterranean-type Shrubby Vegetation
Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
The species is not listed in any National Red Lists or Red Data Books. It was assessed as Data Deficient in the European Red List of Bees (Nieto et al. 2014).

There are no conservation actions in place for this species, and it is unknown whether its distribution overlaps with any protected areas within its range. Further research should be conducted to determine the population size and trends, habitat and ecology, and threats to the species.
