Angraecum ochraceum

This species experiences continuing decline because of illicit collection and habitat destruction due to forest exploitation, annual fire, mining and shifting cultivation. A subpopulation of this species has been recorded on the footprint of a mining project undergoing intense human pressure such as forests clearing. This former subpopulation must be considered as extirpated. Four other subpopulations are known from several unprotected forests subjected to selective logging, timber harvesting for small-scale subsistence and tavy (slash-and-burn farming).

Angraecum setipes has been collected in three protected areas, Andohahela National Park, Ankaratra Protected Area and Ranomafana National Park. The species is currently cultivated in two shade-houses in Ambatovy and in one shade-house in Ambalabe.
