Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
This species experiences continuing decline in extent of occurrence (EOO), area of occupancy (AOO), habitat quality, number of locations and number of mature individuals because of habitat destruction due to forest exploitation, mining and shifting cultivation. Eighty-seven specimens (15 occurrences) of this species have also been collected on the footprint of a mining project undergoing intense human pressure such as forests clearing. These former specimens were collected on individuals that must be considered as extirpated. It is also known from 7 specimens (5 occurrences) collected in unprotected forests that are subjected to selective logging, timber harvesting for small-scale subsistence and tavy (slash-and-burn farming). We estimate that 2 of these 5 occurrences (Razakamalala 847 & Malcomber 2564) will be extirpated within the next 30 years.
