Although the habitat around the upper Ngounyé River is being colonized again by secondary forest following clearance, the population of Angraecum cribbianum is currently thought to be declining. This is because its habitat is currently threatened by timber exploitation in the southwest of Waka, at Etéké. The number of individuals of the species is not known and cannot be estimated since the species is epiphyte.

Angraecum cribbianum is threatened by shifting agriculture for small scale subsistence, selective logging for domestic uses and timber exploitation in the southwest of Waka, at Etéké. The only collection known, representing one location, occurs in a site inside a non-protected area. Despite intensive field work made in Gabon, the species has not been collected again.
