The population of Dolabrifolia biteaui is currently thought to be decreasing since the species habitat is threatened by oil drilling. The number of mature individuals of D. biteaui is not known and cannot be estimated since the species is epiphyte.

Four collections of Dolabrifolia biteaui representing one occurrence are located within the Monts de Cristal National Park. There are no conservation actions for the three other collections. The species should be searched for within the Loango and the Moukalaba Doudou National Parks in Gabon.
The species is currently cultivated in the Jean Philippe Biteau's garden in Libreville (Gabon), in the Botanical Garden Meise (Belgium) and in the greenhouse of the Wageningen herbarium (Netherlands).
The species is listed in CITES Appendix II.
