The population of Angraecum bicallosum is currently thought to be decreasing since the species' habitat - humid and subhumid mossy forests at medium elevations - is threatened. The number of individuals of A. bicallosum is not known and cannot be estimated since the species is epiphyte.

This species has been recorded on the footprint of a mining project undergoing intense human pressure such as forests clearing. This former subpopulation must be considered as extirpated.

Angraecum bicallosum has been collected from 3 specimens in two protected areas, the Montagne d’Ambre national park (2 specimens) and the Mangabe protected area (1 specimen). It is also listed in the Appendix II of the CITES. Two specimens are cultivated ex situ in botanical garden live collections.
