The population of Angraecum arachnites is currently thought to be decreasing since the species habitat is threatened. The number of mature individuals of A. arachnites is not known.

This species experiences continuing decline in area of occupancy, habitat extent and quality, number of subpopulations and number of mature individuals because of habitat destruction due to Mining activities, selective logging, timber harvesting for small-scale subsistence and tavy (slash-and-burn farming).

Angraecum arachnites has been collected from 17 collections in eight protected areas, the Ambohitantely special reserve (two collections), the Analamazaotra national park (one collection), the Andringitra national park (one collection), the Anjozorobe-Angavo Corridor protected harmonious landscape (seven collections), the Ankeniheny Zahamena Corridor protected harmonious landscape (one collection), the Itremo massif protected harmonious landscape (three collections), the Manongarivo special reserve (one collection) and the Montagne d’Ambre national park (one collection). In addition to these officially protected sites, one collection has also been collected in the conservation zone surrounding the footprint, and this forest should be subjected to protection in the near future. The species is listed in the Appendix II of the CITES. Individuals of this species have been brought to cultivation in the Ambatovy and the Antananarivo shade houses.
